Various biostimulators are available commercially – at BellaDerma Fachzenrum in Berlin we use Sculptra. This biostimulator has been used successfully in the United States and Brazil for many years. Sculptra tightens, nourishes and emphasizes the contours of the face. Biostimulators are not intended to fill wrinkles by means of wrinkle injections or to conjure up volume.
Radiesse®
The Radiesse® treatment can reduce wrinkles and make facial skin smoother. The injection stimulates the production of new collagen in the treated area, as the filler is made from calcium. The aims of the treatment include tightening the skin and increasing volume.
Sculptra®
Poly-L-lactic acid is the content of the biostimulator. It stimulates the production of collagen in the lower layers of the skin, which tightens the connective tissue. It is therefore also possible to visibly smooth wrinkles.
UltraCol
The active ingredient UltraCol is a biodegradable active ingredient. This biostimulator is normally used as a thread material in aesthetics. However, thanks to a new processing method, this carrier material can also be used as a filler, resulting in a natural lifting effect.
PRP therapy
PRP stands for plasma, which is rich in platelets. The treatment with PRP in Berlin leads to a blood sample being taken. After a special preparation, the plasma is injected into the area where the growth factors it contains stimulate collagen production. The treatment is also used for hair loss.

How do biostimulators work and what are they?
Facts first: Biostimulation refers to the activation of the body’s own natural self-healing and self-regeneration mechanisms. Biostimulators such as Radiesse have a similar effect to conventional dermal fillers but use the body’s own collagen. The fibroblasts, i.e. the cells in which their natural collagen and hyaluronic acid are formed, are addressed by dermal fillers. Collagen biostimulants are used to compensate for volume loss and to strengthen areas of the face that have sagged over time.
