Laser and IPL in comparison

Laser light and IPL light are not the same. There is a whole series of significant differences, which can be summarized as follows:

Laser light is a single color, coherent parallel light:

• monochromatic (it emits only one wavelength).
• coherent (its waves are always in the same phase)
• parallel light (it is a point directional light).

Laser treatment is a better choice for darker skin types.

IPL systems work with a multicolored, non-coherent and defocused light wave band:

• polychromatic (a band of wavelengths, different colors).
• non-coherent (waves are not necessarily in phase)
• defocused light (it is a scattered, non-point light).

IPL light covers an entire spectrum of light waves and is not a beam of light with only a single wavelength. For different applications, the spectrum of the IPL light is optimized for the specific area of application with the help of special filters.
